Day Eight

This is all for the "Official Record" since we are all HOME!! It is lovely - and as Christopher says, Kind of Messy!

We are doing our best!

Griffin had his swimming lesson this morning. He did fabulous.

Kylie has softball.

Zak has football.

Chase, Zak, Quinn, Kylie and Griffin went swimming.

Steven went to work.

I napped and cleaned and did laundry.

We hope to have Fried Rice for dinner....around 8:00pm

I hope to take pictures of my people!! (While I can.)

Conversations with Griffin

Just SOME of the conversations Griffin and I have had today:
"I was abouting to fall to sleep, but I invented a way not to fall to sleep. I just look at my toy upside-down and hold my breath for as long as I can."
"Knights have to fight a lot of things, right?"
"Let's talk about babies." "Ok", I said. "What do you want to talk about?" "Oh, what babies need, or what you have to do to make them happy." I then told him all the things. He then asked about "the baby machine". "What baby machine? Where did you hear that?" Griffin said he heard about the baby machine from TV. Fairly Odd Parents. They talked about babies on that show and Timmy saw a baby machine, but his dad wouldn't tell him what the baby machine did. I told Griffin I couldn't tell him either because my mom never told me.
He has been funny today.

Sorry Chase...

Pasta wasn't on sale, but STEAK was....so it was Porterhouse and flap steak for dinner. It was VERY good.

There was also more swimming, the pool this evening was 87 degrees.

Griffin fell to sleep about 1 minute after dinner.

Day Four

It has been great so far!

Kylie and I played Tennis. She is VERY good! We played 7 games, she won one.

Then Kylie, Griffin and I went swimming. The pool was 84 degrees - perfect!

I have a few errands to do and I must figure out what is for dinner. Any suggestions?

Day Three

What did we do today??

Dad: work

Mom: hung more sunblocking "curtain" over the hottest windows. It helped the house stay cool until around 4:00. Drove children to their various sporting activities. Made Chinese Chicken Salad for dinner with watermelon and french bread.

Steven: work, he ate lunch at The Hat today. He did not like it. He worked out with Josh at Arcadia High.

Zak: football and he opted out of his DUTY list!! He is in TROUBLE!

Quinn: He did do the cleaning of his assigned room, but he studiously did NOT do his piano!!

Kylie: did room and piano and played with Brianna and got the highest points in the game her softball team played during practice. She was sweaty.

Griffin: played with Vincent. Fell to sleep at 4:00, that is why I am blogging at 11:09pm.

Pictures!!

I can't seem to put writing in, next to the correct picture.
Obviously, Dodger game pictures...Juan Pierre is the guy with the blue socks way up.
Jeff Kent is the Right-handed batter, Blake DeWitt is the left-handed batter. That is Kylie with the new Clearplay.

Day Two

Haircuts!
Dad, Kylie and Quinn all got haircuts today.

Just imagine what Dad and Quinn look like.

Steven finished his 2nd day of work.

Zak was not at dinner, so the disscussion was not centered on Sports, this evenings discussion was about K-mart. Zak goes to football every evening from 5:30 - 8:30pm.

No cleaning was done.

I don't know what happened to the day.

It was hot.

Oh, by the way, CHASE, Daneilla Ma (sp?) says hi. Message from Zachary.

Day One of Summer

Summer Has Begun!

I did some college registering for Steven this morning while he started his first day of his summer job, as opposed to his spring job.
Our goal this summer, (or is it my goal that I am imposing?) is to have a clean house all summer! Yea.
Piano lessons are back on track also. Yea.
It is nice to have almost everybody home.

Saturday, June 14, 2008

Oh

School is out.

I just remembered Griffin is to give his first talk in primary tomorrow...it is 9:35pm.

It is hot.

We have no more blue ink....printing will have to be in black and white, my favorite.

I do like the book I am reading, that's a plus.

We had homemade pizza AND homemade ice cream tonight.

Our dryer miraculously fixed itself tonight! Cancelled the new dryer we ordered! Yea.

And, I just checked, I had no misspelled words. That's good.

Apparently, Fantasy Football is now OPEN!

It will be a live draft - set for July 2nd.

S P O R T S

It's Softball all weekend (NOT Sunday), also Monday and Tuesday - then during dinner Tuesday night I am quizzed on my Football knowledge, with a Basketball question thrown in.

Dinner was good - beef burgundy, eaten at 8:30!

Moab/Arches National Park

walking away

if you look carefully, you'll see Landscape Arch behind me.

Christopher and Delicate Arch

Steven and Delicate Arch

panorama picture, I think this turned out really well

Steven got the upper ground on that one

Steven and I went camping at Moab this past weekend. We hiked around Arches National Park and due to some difficulties with the rafts, he didn't get to raft down the Colorado River, but I did. Well, our raft sort've deflated anyway, so it wasn't that fun, but Arches was good. Here are some pictures.

The Hopeful Plans

Plans for Friday:

Kylie has her first All Star Softball game in Covina. We have to be there by 4:30, the game starts at 5:30. Kylie is their star catcher. The game should run 1 hour, 20 minutes. Then we dash off home....so....we can go to the Dodger Game!! Well, only 4 Coles can go, that is all the tickets that we got for free!! We got a call, they couldn't go, would we like them....YES!!

Kylie was willing to MISS her game to go to the Dodgers, but we realized that the game starts at 7:40, so, she could make it.

Should be FUN! (If not a tad tiring.)
Jeff Kent, one of the players we like to watch. He also goes to our ward sometimes, during the summer. He hit 2 homeruns in tonight's (Thurs.)game

One Dollar Bob

Chase has come up with a name for our cat:

1 Dollar Bob!

or

Bob for short

or

the Bob could stand for:

Bobcat

We think it is funny.

It's All In My Head

Every day I come up funny, enjoyable, informative posts! I just can't seem to get on the computer and post them! Now, days later, I can't remember.

I know I had things to tell about Zak and Quinn and Chase....hmm

This is what I've got today:

Zak - last night informed me that he had a book report coming up, but that he HAD to show the book to his teacher the next day. It had to be about "high school problems". I found a book, Hooway For Wodney Wat. It is about a Rat that cannot say his R's. Zak found it acceptable and took it to school.

Chase: will have a "language evaluation" over the phone today for the MTC. Hmmm He would like to stay for the whole 9 week time. He went on his usual long bike ride. I feel sorry for his companion. He also made his favorite cookies last night. Those are the peanut butter cookies with the hershey's chocolate in the middle. They are VERY good.

Kylie: had her first practice for baseball all-stars. We think she will play catcher. She is VERY good at that.

Mom: I taught pre-school today. It was great. We reviewed. We sang all the song I have taught them. We played abc bingo. We had grape jello.

A BIG box came in the mail today....it was from Steven, to Dad....hmmm

That is all I have for now. I will try to let you all know what is going on on a quicker basis! I would really rather blog than cook dinner or clean, but sometimes those things HAVE to be done.

I am thinking of taking a picture of Chase everyday until he leaves.
